Pre-Law Advising

About

Pre-Law Advising at Brown offers guidance and support to students and alumni interested in the study and practice of law.

Pre-Law Advising Support

Mapping out your individual journey to a career in law can be daunting. We can help with selecting courses, finding relevant opportunities, locating volunteer experiences that match your interests, planning for the application process, writing school application essays, choosing law schools that are a good fit for you, and much more. The best way to know what is going on in our office is to join our email list so that you can get our weekly newsletter.

Mission Statement

Pre-Law Advising supports the Brown pre-law community through holistic and inclusive advising based on identifying and building on each individual’s preferences and strengths. We are dedicated to:

  • Providing one-on-one advising to students and alumni considering careers in law.
  • Interfacing with Brown faculty, alumni, and resources to support prospective applicants’ journeys to law school.
  • Preparing Brown students/alums to enter the field as well-prepared and empathetic practitioners.
  • Going beyond just how to get into law school to explore your drivers and ambitions, and assist you in planning a satisfying and fulfilling career.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to providing pre-law advising in a manner that accepts, values and provides equal opportunity to all members of our community regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, political view, physical ability and other important aspects of their identities.
